Submitted By: Rev. George Malkmus
Children of all ages, from just a few years old to 100 plus, will enjoy this nutritious, sweet, and basically raw (except for the maple syrup) treat, especially on a hot late spring or summer day.
Ingredients
- Ripe bananas (peel should be speckled)
- Pure maple syrup (to taste)
- Walnuts (or pecans) coarsely chopped
Directions
- Peel several bananas and cut them into quarters.
- Place banana pieces on a cookie sheet and freeze (once frozen, place bananas in a zipper bag and store in freezer for future use).
- Place 6-8 frozen banana pieces in a food processor with an "S" blade.
- Drizzle maple syrup over the bananas and run the food processor until the mixture is creamy.
- Place mixture in a serving bowl, drizzle more maple syrup on top, and sprinkle with chopped walnuts or pecans.
- Kick back in the sunshine and enjoy your "ice dream!"
