The Hallelujah Diet Complements
To receive the maximum benefits from The Hallelujah Diet®, be sure to include the following complementary items each day to get vital nutrients, help protect the immune system, and receive many other health benefits.
BarleyMax®
BarleyMax® is a blend of two of nature's most nutritionally dense foods - raw organic barley and alfalfa grass juices - in a convenient powder form.
According to Rev. George Malkmus, founder of Hallelujah Acres®:
“I always consume at least three teaspoons daily. One teaspoon per day may be a good starting point, and then building up to two to three teaspoons, to prevent too rapid of a cleansing reaction. If I had a serious physical problem today, I would increase my carrot/vegetable juice to six to eight 8-oz glasses along with four or more teaspoons of BarleyMax® powder daily.”
The reason Rev. Malkmus and others on The Hallelujah Diet® supplement their diets with BarleyMax® is that, for the most part, food produced today is grown in soil that lacks the nutrients the body needs for building new, strong, healthy, vital, and vibrant cells. BarleyMax® contains the juice of raw organic barley and alfalfa that are grown in soil that is high in minerals, so this single supplement contains the widest spectrum of nutrients and the highest macro and trace mineral content possible.
Dr. Michael Donaldson of the Hallelujah Acres® Foundation has performed extensive research and testing to ensure that the levels of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and antioxidants in BarleyMax® are among the highest in the industry.
Carrot/vegetable juice
Freshly extracted carrot/vegetable juice made from large California juicing carrots and leafy green vegetables is extremely important in meeting daily nutritional needs. Carrots are the richest source of beta-carotene, the precursor of vitamin A, that the body can easily assimilate, and provides a wealth of other nutritional benefits. The carrot/vegetable juice and BarleyMax® make a dynamic duo in providing the body with high-octane body fuel. As a maintenance program, consume at least two 8-oz glasses of carrot/vegetable juice along with two to three servings of BarleyMax® daily.
If you do not have a juicer to make your own fresh carrot/vegetable juice, you can use convenient juice powders like CarrotJuiceMax™ and BeetMax, which are made from organic carrots and organic beets, contain no artificial ingredients, are naturally sweet, and provide practically all of the nutrients and live enzymes of the fresh raw carrots and beets, making them the perfect substitutes when fresh carrot/vegetable juice are not available.
Fiber Cleanse
Use Fiber Cleanse* during the first two-to-three months on The Hallelujah Diet®, taking the recommended serving before leaving for work or sometime in the late morning. The 28 selected herbs and fiber are in a psyllium and flax seed base, and help cleanse the colon, restore normal bowel activity, ensure timely and efficient elimination of toxins from the body, and more – a must for achieving optimal health.
After three months, we recommend that you transition to either freshly ground organic flax seed or our new B-Flax-D™ product for long-term use.
* Not recommended for pregnant or lactating women, or for long-term use.
Vitamin B12
Those following The Hallelujah Diet® should consider taking a supplement to ensure an adequate level of Vitamin B12 in the body, as this nutrient is not readily found in a primarily vegan diet. Adequate levels of B12 help the body to: prevent anemia; regulate red blood cell formation; form healthy cells; metabolize fats and carbohydrates; utilize iron; prevent nerve damage; and perform many other functions properly.
The vitamins B6 and Folic Acid provide related health benefits, such as metabolizing protein, forming hemoglobin, and decreasing neural tube defects, so we combined B12 with B6 and Folic Acid into a vegetarian sublingual tablet to help you get the best 1-2-3 nutritional health punch this combination can deliver. And if you are pregnant, this combination is a must for your health and that of your child.

Udo's Choice Perfected Oil Blend™
One tablespoon per day of Udo’s oil, a cold-pressed blend of organic flax, sunflower and sesame seed oils, combined with oils from oat germ and rye germ, will give you the essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids the body needs to achieve and maintain good health. (This oil should not be used for cooking.) An alternative to using the Udo’s oil is to take a serving of B-Flax-D™ as directed to meet the daily needs of essential fats, vitamin D, and fiber.
Attention Men: Current research indicates that men dealing with prostate cancer may be better served by using freshly ground flax seed to meet their essential fats needs rather than the Udo’s oil or flax seed oil.
Sunshine
Each day the sun is shining, get some sunshine (approximately 15 minutes) on as much of the skin as possible, as sun is so important in the production of vitamin D, which is critical for strong bones and muscles, a healthy immune system, and more. On days when you cannot get an adequate amount of sunshine, take the recommended serving of B-Flax-D™.

Exercise
Exercising every day for a minimum of 30 minutes is extremely important – it helps you stay physically fit and release toxins from the body. Doing a combination of aerobic, resistance and stretching exercises will help maximize your body’s cardiovascular condition, strength and flexibility. When first beginning an exercise regimen, doing a stretching and fast walking program is a good place to start.
